International Girl Child Day saw educational workshops, art contests, and community events worldwide aimed at raising awareness about discrimination, promoting empowerment, and encouraging equal participation for girls in education, leadership, and healthcare. Organizations and governments used the occasion to highlight success stories of girls who are leading positive change, especially in vulnerable or crisis-affected communities. The call to action urged everyone to stand with girls, recognize their achievements, and address systemic barriers to equality
The observance highlighted ongoing issues such as gender-based discrimination, child marriage, violence, and restricted access to education, particularly in countries like India where such problems persist despite progress. Events and campaigns called for amplifying girls' voices, supporting girl-led initiatives, and advocating for policies that ensure equal rights and opportunities. Awareness drives emphasized the importance of eliminating biases and harmful practices that affect girls’ growth and safety
